Brunch at Food Republic, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

UPDATE:

The political issues in this country that lead to racism are getting increasingly sickening. I didn't know many of the so-called nations are so under-educated. Nuff said.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't really go to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, but when I do, it usually happens for a reason. I just broke my personal record in April 2013 though, for the highest number of times I visited this high-end shopping center. I had two appointments with two different parties on two consecutive Sundays at two different outlets of The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in the same mall. Unless I am insane or out of choice, I wouldn't ever consider dining at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur because everything is known to be pricey and out of my budget.

Still, Don and I had to settle our brunch after rushing all the way from Sri Petaling. The beginning of the day was hectic, I would say, and it was approximately 12.30pm upon arrival. By 1.00pm, I had to appear at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf located at the Connection of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. Without much consideration, both of us opted for Food Republic to avoid hassles.

I quickly browsed through the stalls available at Food Republic, and decided that Mixed Rice could work better as healthier "fast food". I didn't have to wait for anything to be cooked or heated. There were quite a few stalls that sold Mixed Rice with different dishes, but the shrimps at Scissor Cut Curry Rice were too tempting, which was why I selected this particular stall in addition to the convenience.

Generally, it was good, and the price was definitely a killer. I would, nevertheless, prefer the eggplants to be cooked and soaked together with the vegetable curry instead of having them separated, making them tasteless. The fried bun was just something pricey that I took for Don, at RM1.20 each if I am not mistaken.

Don had his Dried Chilli Chicken Rice from Little Wok at RM7.90, and he thought it was fine as well. I shook my head and shrugged my shoulders as a sign of "Okay lah!" because I honestly still preferred those prepared by the Chinese restaurants near my house or my place in Subang Jaya. By the way, you may opt for beef instead of chicken, depending on your own preference.

Eventually, I made it to be at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf before 1.00pm after walking all over the mall in search of the place, without even running late. Yay! (Y)
